Job Title: ASL Field Service Engineer

Join Vanderlande Industries B.V. as an ASL Field Service Engineer and take on the challenge of ensuring the smooth operation of our material handling systems.

Responsibilities & Tasks:
  • Perform unscheduled corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure optimal system performance.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance to prevent equipment failures and extend system lifespan.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions on computer hardware containing software solutions, utilizing your expertise in electro-mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot field wiring of control panels containing Siemens PLC and ASibus network communication, ensuring seamless system integration.
  • Inspect equipment to identify potential issues and perform technical cleaning to maintain optimal performance.
  • Document maintenance tasks in our maintenance management system, ensuring accurate records and efficient tracking.
  • Replace parts as necessary during maintenance, maintaining inventory control of spare parts consumed and ordered.
  • Support installation and commissioning of equipment, providing technical guidance to customers on operational use.
  • Collaborate with your manager to establish policies and procedures related to Field Support, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Perform all other tasks required by our operations, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to excellence.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in IT Quality Assurance, Electro-Mechanical Field Support, service engineering, or project engineering.
  • Experience troubleshooting or installing UL-rated control cabinets, with a strong understanding of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience working with material handling systems or similar technology, with a focus on technical expertise.
  • Ability to work under stress situations, quickly respond to failures, and maintain close attention to detail.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Qualified to receive TSA SIDA security clearance badging.
  • Qualified to pass government background checks administered by Leidos Inc and Law Enforcement/Federal Air Marshall Service's, Personnel Security Section (PerSec).
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience in Linux or Unix environments, with a strong understanding of system administration.
  • Experience with Siemens TIA Portal PLC software, with a focus on programming and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with troubleshooting industrial communication and networking (ASibus, Ethernet, TCP/IP, or ControlNet).
Knowledge-Skills-Abilities (Competencies):
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems in a quick and effective manner.
  • Client-oriented personality, with good relationship skills and a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
