Position Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor will serve as the primary contact for all maintenance and automation concerns during their assigned shift. This role involves overseeing and coordinating the daily activities of the maintenance team to ensure optimal productivity within the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and prioritize work tasks to ensure efficient scheduling.
  • Maintain systems for tracking work orders, preventive maintenance, and inventory of parts.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and safe maintenance of plant equipment to maximize productivity and quality.
  • Oversee the daily operations of maintenance planning, parts management, and mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of parts rooms and work areas through regular audits.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and Production Supervisor to address open preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Uphold customer service standards by ensuring timely resolution of equipment issues affecting production and processing.
  • Foster a collaborative environment among maintenance staff and other departments to achieve facility goals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols, including proper use of safety equipment and completion of safety inspections.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings with maintenance personnel in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager.
  • Address facility maintenance requests and perform repairs on plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and security systems.
  • Maintain and update the computerized maintenance management system for tracking work orders and maintenance history.
  • Monitor plant equipment operations to reduce unplanned downtime and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Adhere to all safety and operational guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are necessary:

  • Mechanics should possess level 2 qualifications and exhibit leadership capabilities.
  • ICT personnel must have level 3 qualifications and show leadership skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and persist until effective solutions are found.
  • Commitment to safety practices and procedures, including the use of safety equipment.
  • Willingness to seek assistance when processes are unclear.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, utilities, and PLC systems.
  • Demonstrate respect and fairness towards all team members.
  • Proven ability to lead teams towards shared objectives.

Working Conditions:

The role involves standing, walking, and lifting throughout the shift. Employees may lift up to 60 pounds frequently and 80 pounds occasionally, with assistance for heavier loads.

Physical activities may include bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and climbing, particularly when servicing equipment or performing maintenance tasks.

Food Safety Compliance:

  • Report any necessary repairs or adjustments that could impact product quality or safety.
  • Understand and comply with food safety handling protocols.
  • Initiate actions to prevent nonconformities related to food safety and quality.
  • Document any issues related to food safety and quality control.
  • Manage the processing of nonconforming products until deficiencies are resolved.
  • In the event of absence, ensure that responsibilities are covered by qualified personnel.

Position Reporting: Reports to the Maintenance Manager.
