Position OverviewThe Employee and Labor Relations Strategic Partner plays a crucial role in supporting all operations within the Market Unit by offering guidance and assistance in the implementation of essential HR processes and objectives for all managers and employees within the designated geographical area. The ER, LR Business Partner engages in all activities related to proactive and reactive Employee Relations and Labor Relations support, including but not limited to policy interpretation and guidance, legal compliance, Collective Bargaining Agreement Management, Employee Relations training, investigations, negotiations, teammate engagement, grievance, and arbitration processes. This role demands an exceptionally perceptive individual who can connect with individuals at all levels within the organization across various regions. Key Responsibilities- Proactive Employee Relations: Acts as a Cultural Advocate promoting our purpose and values.
- Conducts regular facility visits to enhance positive employee engagement and organizes Employee Engagement sessions.
- Develops and implements action plans from Employee Engagement sessions in collaboration with operational leadership to foster positive employee relations and development training.
- Reactive Employee Relations: Provides coaching and guidance to leaders on performance management for both non-exempt (union and non-union) and exempt employees.
- Serves as a resource for policy interpretation and guidance for non-exempt (union and non-union) and exempt teammates.
- Maintains and administers the Case Management System.
- Addresses general employee inquiries such as compensation questions, payroll discrepancies, and benefits inquiries.
- Conducts Employee Investigations for both union and non-union cases.
- Assists with employee relations matters including compliance issues, harassment allegations, EEOC, and NLRB complaints.
- Labor Relations: Provides guidance and interpretation regarding Collective Bargaining Agreements within the assigned territory.
- Ensures adherence to all provisions within the Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Manages grievances and assists with arbitration processes.
- Leads the contract negotiation process from preparation to execution.
- Acts as a liaison between Union representatives and Company officials.
- Conducts stay and exit interviews, analyzing data to provide recommendations related to emerging trends.
- Addresses teammate issues and complaints to safeguard the organization's general liability interests.
- Preferred experience in Labor Relations (i.e., contract management and negotiations, grievance and arbitration experience).

- Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Familiarity with office equipment: Laptop, Printer, Copier, Scanner, Fax, Smart Phone, Personal Vehicle.
- Working Conditions: Standard office environment with exposure to warehouse and manufacturing settings (noisy conditions, extreme temperatures).
- Must be flexible with scheduling, including up to 50% overnight travel within a calendar year, as well as early and late hours.
- Physical Effort: Minimal physical effort required.
- Ability to navigate through various facilities including Sales Branches, Manufacturing Facilities, Warehouses, Fleet, and Equipment Services Centers.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Willingness to travel as necessary by car and/or plane.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience ranging from 3 to 5 years in a relevant field.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related discipline.
- Valid Driver's License and certifications such as SPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP.
