Lead Computer Vision Engineer

Elsdon Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Computer Vision Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and refining advanced computer vision algorithms for our autonomous gun turret.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement machine learning models that deliver high accuracy and reliability in resource-limited environments.
  • Collaborate closely with the Electrical Engineering team to integrate vision systems into the turret's overall architecture.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of vision algorithms to ensure optimal performance across diverse environmental conditions.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to the expansion of machine learning and computer vision expertise within the organization.
  • Support the transition of the prototype turret to a military-grade system and contribute to the creation of variants for different applications and engagement distances.

You're Well-Suited for This Role If:

  • You have a strong passion for machine learning, computer vision, and robotics, and have been exploring these areas early in your career.
  • You possess at least a Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a specialized focus on machine learning and computer vision.
  • You bring 6+ years of experience in developing machine-learning-driven computer vision systems, preferably in the robotics or autonomous systems field.
  • You are proficient in Python, C++, and are familiar with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • You have hands-on experience working with embedded systems and integrating computer vision algorithms into hardware.
  • You're familiar with integrating various sensors (cameras, LIDAR, RADAR) into autonomous systems.
  • You thrive in mentoring roles and enjoy collaborating with colleagues to tackle complex technical problems.
