Position: Shift Lead, Hair Color Bar

The Shift Lead at Madison Reed's Hair Color Bar plays a pivotal role in ensuring a superior guest experience from the moment they arrive until they leave. This position involves managing the appointment schedule, engaging with guests, and guaranteeing the quality of services delivered by the team.

The Shift Lead is instrumental in executing the strategic vision for the Hair Color Bar, supporting the Manager's operational initiatives, fostering a collaborative team environment, and nurturing community relationships. As a keyholder, the Shift Lead assumes managerial responsibilities in the absence of the Manager, while honing their business management and leadership skills for future advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit and cultivate leadership qualities to deliver exceptional employee and guest experiences aligned with our core values: Love, Joy, Trust, Courage, and Responsibility.
  • Model exemplary sales and service behaviors in all guest interactions, including effectively resolving service-related issues.
  • Assist in all operational aspects, including front and back of house duties, while adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct consultations and perform all services listed on the menu, including shampooing, styling, and chemical treatments.
  • Act as the manager-on-duty to promote a positive and collaborative work environment, valuing team contributions through ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Contribute to achieving monthly sales targets and other performance metrics, including retail sales and service memberships.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards regarding merchandising, inventory management, and asset security.
  • Master all operational systems, policies, and procedures of Madison Reed.
  • Mentor and develop team members to foster a culture of excellence, guest satisfaction, and overall performance.
  • Engage in continuous training and stay informed about Madison Reed products and services.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Active cosmetology license in the applicable state.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a colorist in a salon setting.
  • At least 1 year of leadership experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills in a dynamic retail or salon environment.
  • Proficient in operating point of sale systems.

Physical Requirements:

Team members in this role will regularly stand or walk for extended periods, perform various physical tasks, and may occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
