Health Insurance Customer Support Specialist

This role is a part-time contract position for the Open Enrollment season. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to provide exceptional customer support in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with understanding health insurance plans, eligibility, and enrollment procedures during the Open Enrollment period.
- Provide clear, accurate information regarding plan options, coverage benefits, and enrollment deadlines.
- Respond to incoming calls, emails, and online chat inquiries in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
- Help customers troubleshoot any technical issues related to the enrollment portal or application submission.
- Address customer concerns, resolve complaints, and escalate complex issues to the appropriate departments when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with health insurance regulations and maintain confidentiality of customer information.
- Keep records of customer interactions, transactions, and feedback for continuous improvement of service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Remote call center experience is required.
- Previous experience in customer service, preferably in the health insurance or healthcare industry.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to explain complex information clearly and patiently to customers.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage time effectively.
- Familiarity with health insurance terms and Open Enrollment processes is a plus.
- Proficient in using customer service software, email, and chat systems.
- High-speed internet and a quiet workspace are required for remote work.
Salary Range: $18-$22 per hour
Work Schedule: Part-time contract hours are Monday through Friday, with shifts from either 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM or 12 PM - 5 PM EST. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required during peak enrollment periods.
