Title: Museum Safety Officer
Employment Status: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Typically 40 hours per week, with potential weekend, evening, or overnight shifts required for special events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees access management utilizing security software systems.
- Monitors and assesses situations to identify potential risks, reporting any suspicious behavior, injuries, or unsafe conditions.
- Follows protocols for building opening and closing, including securing premises and managing alarm systems.
- Employs surveillance technologies such as cameras and access control systems to ensure comprehensive monitoring.
- Engages with visitors in designated areas, fostering a welcoming atmosphere while maintaining security.
- Ensures a positive experience for all guests.
- Manages crowd and vehicle flow during special events.
- Surveys the campus and building interiors and exteriors from the control center.
- Provides guidance and support to museum assistants.
- Demonstrates understanding of operational policies, museum collections, and grounds.
- Supervises emergency evacuation protocols.
- Addresses inquiries and assists with crowd management and navigation.
Organizational Structure:
- Reports directly to the Head of Security.
- Collaborates with staff, volunteers, and visitors.
Required Knowledge:
- Expertise in access control, intrusion detection, fire safety systems, and video surveillance.
- Background in customer service.
- Certifications in CPR, First Response, and AED.

Work Environment:
