We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Director to join our team at Healthcare Nursing Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of the maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the operations of the Maintenance Department, ensuring proper staffing and scheduling of personnel.
  • Inspect storage rooms, work rooms, utility/janitorial closets, etc. for upkeep and supply control.
  • Participate in facility surveys made by authorized governmental agencies.
  • Ensure that outside services are properly completed/supervised in accordance with contracts/work orders.
  • Assist in establishing a preventative maintenance program.
  • Meet with maintenance personnel on a regular basis and solicit advice from inter-department supervisors concerning the operation of the maintenance department.
  • Assist in identifying, evaluating, and classifying routine and job-related maintenance functions.
  • Maintain fire alarm and other fire protection and preventive systems.
  • Complete carpentry and other building repairs within the scope of expertise.
  • Maintain heating and cooling systems.
  • Makes some electrical and plumbing repairs within scope of expertise.
  • Monitor, maintain, and record inventory and orders supplies as needed.
  • Head snow and ice removal for the sidewalks.
  • Be on call seven days a week, 24 hours a day for emergencies.
Requirements:
  • High school education or its equivalent.
  • One year experience in a supervisory capacity, in a maintenance-related position.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to withstand inside and outside environmental conditions.
  • Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge in building codes and safety regulations.
  • Licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Leadership ability and ability to work in teams.
