Responsibilities:
- Assist pathologists in the performance of autopsies and surgical pathology procedures.
- Grossly examine and dissect human tissues, including organs, biopsies, and other specimens.
- Prepare high-quality microscopic slides for examination by pathologists.
- Participate in clinical conferences and contribute to the development of diagnoses.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- May perform other related duties as assigned by the pathologist.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must be a recent graduate of a NAACLS accredited Pathologists' Assistant program.
- Must be eligible to take and pass the ASCP certification exam (or be actively pursuing certification).
- Strong attention to detail, excellent manual dexterity, and a commitment to quality are essential.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
