Position Summary

Great Plains Casualty is in search of a motivated individual to fill the role of Customer Service Representative I. This position is essential in providing exceptional customer support by effectively addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and managing complaints. The representative will collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless operations and maintain precise customer documentation. This role also requires managing policy-related transactions while keeping abreast of insurance offerings through continuous training. Reporting directly to the Programs Manager, this position offers a pathway for professional growth and skill enhancement.

Great Plains Casualty, established in 2007, is a recognized property and casualty insurance provider based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality, accessible, and affordable insurance solutions tailored for the transportation sector across the nation, utilizing an efficient digital business model.

Our focus is on supporting both owner-operators of heavy trucks under lease agreements and contract carriers with their own authority in the final mile/home delivery segment of the transportation market. We are licensed in 49 states and the District of Columbia, boasting an AM Best rating of A- (Excellent).

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver prompt, accurate, and courteous customer service.
  • Efficiently resolve customer inquiries, issues, and complaints.
  • Maintain effective communication with agents, brokers, underwriters, and other departments to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Accurately process endorsements, cancellations, and other policy transactions in a timely manner.
  • Organize and manage customer records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Provide constructive feedback on customer service processes and recommend enhancements.
  • Participate in training programs to maintain a thorough understanding of the company's insurance products and services.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to achieve a customer satisfaction rating of 90% or higher.
  • Proficient in resolving at least 95% of customer inquiries on the first contact or within 24 hours.
  • Maintain a 98% accuracy rate in processing policy transactions.
  • Ensure 100% accuracy in customer records with quarterly audits.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of insurance products, achieving a score of 90% or higher on training assessments.
  • Proficient in MS Windows, typing, MS Office, and VOIP systems.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software relevant to the position.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with trucking and transportation insurance is advantageous.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer for long durations.

Work Schedule

  • Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
