About the Role

As a Consultant Engineer at Factory Mutual Insurance Company, you will play a critical role in helping our clients identify and mitigate potential risks to their facilities and businesses. With a strong background in engineering and a passion for problem-solving, you will work closely with clients to assess risks and develop effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Site Assessments: Visit client facilities to evaluate physical and human element exposures, and provide recommendations for mitigation.
  • Evaluate Risk Factors: Assess site water supplies, fire protection, dust hazards, electrical systems, chemical storage and processing, structural designs, construction materials, and site maintenance and emergency response programs.
  • Develop Engineering Solutions: Communicate recommendations and engineering solutions to clients, ensuring compliance with FM Global Engineering Standards.
  • Support Client Implementation: Assist clients in implementing solutions to mitigate identified risks.
  • Travel and Work Remotely: Work from a home office and travel to clients' facilities daily, with occasional overnight travel.
Requirements
  • Engineering Background: Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering (various specialties considered).
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Good analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical Aptitude: Solid technical aptitude, including diverse knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Physical Demands: Physically able to climb a ladder, mount a roof, lift 25 lbs, comfortable in confined spaces, and walk 2-3 miles per day.
  • Authorization to Work: Authorization to work in the country you are applying to work in.
