Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Ascension Seton. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider).
  • Perform select clinical duties, including interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information on patients' charts.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
  • Assist with basic clerical duties, including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
  • Perform basic materials management functions, including ordering and stocking of supplies.
  • Document the provider's encounter with patients, including listing all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider.
  • Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. One or more of the following required: Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association, American Medical Certification (AMCA), National Association for Health Professionals, National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
  • Education: High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
