Project Safety Manager Job Description

Lunda Construction Company, a leading transportation contractor, is seeking a highly skilled Project Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining company policies adhering to local, state, and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day safety operations, including overseeing the design and development of facilities, work areas, and work procedures.
  • Liaise with project owners and third parties regarding project safety.
  • Train and mentor employees in safety policies and regulations.
  • Monitor safety and take appropriate action to correct any safety issues or deficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and stay up-to-date on any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety management or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 10 years of construction safety management experience, including heavy highway and/or railroad construction experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with railroad safety regulations required.
  • Ability to analyze situations, identify problems, and recommend solutions.
  • Understanding, interpretation, and application of laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • CSP or CHST certification required, OSHA 500 preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Windows operating systems, particularly in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
