Key Responsibilities:- Assist the anesthesia provider in preparing patients for anesthesia, including setting up equipment and monitoring vital signs.
- Operate and maintain anesthesia equipment, including ventilators, monitors, and other devices.
- Prepare and apply patient warming modalities, as needed.
- Participate in the anesthesia care team, responding to emergencies and providing support as needed.
- Assist with patient monitoring, including setting up and maintaining invasive monitoring equipment.
- Coordinate with the perioperative team to ensure smooth room turnover and efficient use of resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including cleaning and maintaining equipment, and restocking supplies.
- Graduate of an accredited program in Anesthesia Technology with an AS degree or certified by the American Society of Technologists and Technicians (ASATT), as a Technologist.
- I.V. Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Anesthesia Technician Certificate from American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians, and Basic Life Support.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties and responsibilities required of a Certified Anesthesia Technologist.
- Ability to lift 45 lbs of equipment from an overhead position on a daily basis and push/pull up to 500 lbs.
- Keyboarding skills and ability to use computer software applications, including the Health Connect system.
- Certificate of training for Drager, GE, or other anesthesia delivery systems, if not a graduate of a program.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a Cardiac OR and/or Level 1 trauma center.
This is an on-call position, with days and hours varying. The successful candidate will be available to work 8 shifts per month, including 2 weekends and 2 holidays.
