Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ambulatory Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Value Apothecaries Inc. This role is responsible for obtaining patient information, reviewing prescriptions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain new patient clinical and prescription plan coverage information
  • Review new prescriptions and prescription plans
  • Ensure compliance with division, corporate, and regulatory requirements
  • Enter patient profile information into the pharmacy information system
  • Address insurance, reimbursement, and payment issues
  • Participate in achieving business goals and metrics for the Ambulatory Pharmacy
  • Retrieve and prepare medication for pharmacist review and verification
  • Prepare inventory reports for pharmacist review
  • Submit, receive, and place inventory in stock
  • Answer inbound telephone calls and triage as appropriate
  • Assist with adjudicated prescription claims
  • Provide required information for therapeutic consults with patients
  • Intervene with Pharmacy Benefit Manager Companies to resolve plan and patient specific adjudication issues
  • Supply and monitor ambulatory dispensing robotic technology
  • Deliver medications and pharmaceutical supplies to patients
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years directly related and progressively responsible ambulatory pharmacy experience
  • Pharmacy technician certification with a national technical certification organization
  • State pharmacy certification acceptable if core competencies are equal to or better than national certification requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to resolve patient issues quickly and creatively
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, services, and drug interactions
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Good analytical skills
