Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ambulatory Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Value Apothecaries Inc. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our ambulatory pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and verify patient clinical and prescription plan coverage information
  • Review and enter new prescriptions into our pharmacy information system
  • Address insurance, reimbursement, and payment issues with patients, insurance providers, and pharmacists
  • Participate in achieving business goals and metrics for the Ambulatory Pharmacy
  • Prepare inventory reports for pharmacist review and purchase
  • Manage inventory, including submitting, receiving, and stocking
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering inbound calls and triaging as needed
  • Assist with adjudicated prescription claims, ensuring appropriateness of reimbursement and co-pay
  • Intervene with Pharmacy Benefit Manager Companies to resolve plan and patient-specific issues
  • Deliver medications and pharmaceutical supplies to patients as part of our concierge prescription program
Requirements

Normally requires a minimum of two years of directly related and progressively responsible ambulatory pharmacy experience; a bachelor's degree program is preferred. Pharmacy technician certification with a national technical certification organization, such as the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), is required. State pharmacy certification is acceptable if core competencies are equal to or better than national certification requirements.
