Your Role
As an Environmental Biology Associate, you will take charge of project planning and development related to biological resources. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance, conducting surveys, inspections, and providing technical support services. You will also be tasked with writing comprehensive reports and developing strategic plans to efficiently close projects.

  • Project Management: Oversee and coordinate the natural environment aspects of various projects and programs.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide project teams, field staff, and project managers on renewable energy, oil and gas, and other development initiatives.
  • Field Work: Participate in essential field tasks such as bird surveys, vegetation assessments, wetland delineation, and construction monitoring.
  • Professional Development: Contribute to the growth of junior staff through training, coaching, and mentorship.
  • Technical Reporting: Prepare and review technical reports and sections of larger environmental assessments.
  • Business Development: Collaborate with business development teams to respond to Requests for Proposals, defining project scopes and costs.
  • Networking: Actively engage in professional associations and committees to enhance corporate profile.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in wildlife and vegetation assessment.
  • New Business Opportunities: Pursue and secure new business prospects, preparing effective technical proposals.
  • Utilization Goals: Maintain a direct project utilization target of 80-85%.
  • Travel Requirements: Be prepared for travel within and outside designated regions.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following capabilities:

  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety policies, leading by example.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Effective communication abilities with clients, engineers, scientists, and regulatory agencies.
  • Experience in project management, including budget adherence.
  • Aptitude for building relationships with clients and understanding their business objectives.
  • Proficient in MS Office and GIS software.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License and a good driving record.
  • OSHA HAZWOPER 40 certification is required or must be obtained prior to employment.

Education and Experience
A Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 5 years of experience.

This position involves a typical office environment with computer work and may require fieldwork in various weather conditions. The ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs is necessary.
