Position Overview:
The Fuel Operations Manager will play a crucial role in assisting various departments during the pre-construction phase and ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget. This position requires extensive knowledge of the fuel construction sector, along with strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License/CDL required.
- 5+ years of experience in equipment operation, grading, and blueprint interpretation.
- Experience with underground fuel piping systems for service stations is essential.
- Supervisory experience in the construction field is mandatory.
- ICC Certification for handling, installing, and testing both underground and above-ground piping is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive schedule and cost-effective strategy for project completion.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to formulate preconstruction estimates and budgets for materials and labor.
- Create detailed layouts of piping systems, supports, and associated equipment.
- Coordinate and schedule the activities of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers, providing clear instructions and project assignments.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality and timeliness; prepare progress reports for stakeholders and engineers; recommend necessary adjustments.
- Secure required permits and licenses, executing construction contracts in accordance with agreed terms.
- Monitor project budgets and communicate any discrepancies as they arise.
- Maintain records related to job costs and inventory, forwarding them to the appropriate parties.
- Utilize tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders to cut, thread, and shape pipes to specifications.
- Modify, clean, and maintain piping systems, units, fittings, and related machinery, adhering to specifications and utilizing hand and power tools.
- Adhere to company safety protocols and utilize appropriate protective equipment, reporting any safety concerns to the safety representative as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
