Job Summary:

MedStar Health is seeking a highly skilled Transplant Coordinator to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. As a key member of the transplant team, you will serve as a patient advocate, coordinator, and liaison between patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage intake calls from potential transplant candidates and referring physicians, assessing patients for placement on the transplant waiting list.
  • Coordinate evaluations with patients, families, and hospital staff, including transplant hepatologists, nephrologists, surgeons, and clinical consultants.
  • Facilitate the evaluation process, communicating with UNOS to maintain an accurate and current patient waiting list.
  • Participate in clinical rounds, meetings, and educational programs to increase knowledge and improve patient care and staff performance.
  • Provide education to patients and families on diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and health and wellness.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in health sciences, nursing, or dietetics required.
  • 3-4 years of professional clinical experience as a registered dietitian, registered nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant preferred.
  • Candidates with at least 1 year of previous transplant-related experience preferred.
  • RD - Registered Dietitian required.

This position has a hiring range of $72,758 - $123,260.
