Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients; manage daily operations alongside team members.
  • Review and uphold accounting checklists.
  • Deliver financial insights to management through research and analysis of accounting data, including report preparation.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance client accounting processes, including software automation.
  • Compile and analyze account information to prepare entries for assets, liabilities, and capital accounts.
  • Document financial transactions by accurately entering account details.
  • Advise on financial actions by evaluating accounting options.
  • Summarize current financial status by gathering information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports.
  • Verify financial transactions by auditing relevant documents.
  • Ensure accounting controls are maintained by developing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Resolve financial discrepancies through collection and analysis of account information.
  • Safeguard financial data by performing database backups.
  • Uphold financial security by adhering to internal controls.
  • Process payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
  • Address inquiries regarding accounting procedures by researching and interpreting relevant policies and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence, and advising management on necessary actions.
  • Prepare specialized financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Maintain client trust and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of comprehensive accounting experience.
  • Experience with non-profit organizations is preferred.
  • Proven ability to service clients effectively.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics SL is preferred.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks is required.
  • Experience with Sage, Great Plains, and/or SAGE is preferred.
  • A degree in accounting is preferred.
  • Strong capability to review financial statements.
  • Experience in inventory or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technologically adept, with the ability to learn new software; experience in software integration is strongly preferred.
