Job Summary:

The Red Bank Center for Rehabilitation and Healing is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our interdisciplinary team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to evaluate, treat, and document the care of residents with impaired ability to swallow or communicate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate resident's functional needs and develop personalized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to establish policies and procedures for preventing communication and swallowing decline.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication among team members.
  • Perform diagnostic tests, evaluate, and document resident evaluations in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Provide treatment to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of communication and swallowing function possible within their physical abilities.
  • Recommend and provide appropriate treatment, preventative measures, and assistive devices to prevent decline in resident function.
  • Provide resident or caregiver education to promote independence and optimal communication and swallowing function.
  • Maintain timely and accurate resident reports as required by regulatory agencies and third-party payers.
Requirements:
  • A current license as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of practice.
  • A certificate of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech and Hearing Association, or equivalent educational requirements and work experience.
  • Solid computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
