Key Responsibilities:

The Lead Closing Operations Manager serves as a dynamic leader within their designated area, tasked with cultivating managers, team members, and loan pipelines within the Closing division of Lennar Mortgage. This role involves overseeing and coordinating all facets of loan closings to achieve both organizational and borrower objectives. Primary responsibilities include supervising and/or reviewing all submitted loan closing documentation and processes to ensure that no loans are finalized until all underwriting contingencies have been resolved within their Region. The Lead Closing Operations Manager will collaborate closely with Title, Processing, Underwriting, IT, and Quality Assurance teams to uphold accuracy and compliance.

  • Collaborate with Leadership to oversee loan closing associates, fostering high morale, exceptional customer service, and optimal volume and profitability.
  • Develop proficient Closing Managers capable of effectively managing their teams and pipelines.
  • Supervise assigned Regional departments and monitor pipelines to ensure timely processing and closing.
  • Anticipate and adapt to loan-funding volume demands while maintaining appropriate timelines and staffing to achieve funding targets.
  • Interface with Processing, Underwriting, QC, Secondary, and other departments to ensure accurate and marketable loan closures.
  • Utilize reporting and auditing systems to ensure the correctness and accuracy of loan documents and funding (wires) to prevent delays and redundancy.
  • Assist in preparing complete post-closing packages as required by investors.
  • Partner with internal post-closing auditors to uphold quality control standards within the team and gather post-closing items to meet investor requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures for shipping files to Lennar Mortgage for post-closing, in line with investor guidelines.
  • Maintain familiarity with lenders' and investors' closing requirements, forms, and procedures.
  • Foster an inclusive and positive atmosphere within the funding department to promote the growth of the Lennar culture.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within Operations Closing.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in funding and processing, including both conventional and government loans. Experience with bond loans is advantageous.
  • Strong technical skills with 3 to 5 years of experience in mortgage software, along with proficiency in Excel and Word for Windows.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of preliminary title report endorsements and potential issues related to them.
