Position Highlights:
- Sign-on Bonus: Eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus for external qualified candidates.
- Department: Laboratory
- Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift, with variable start and end times (Monday to Friday).
- Compensation: Starting pay of $34.10 per hour, with potential adjustments based on experience.
- Shift Differentials: Additional pay for evenings, nights, and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Cytology Technical Specialist, your primary duties will include:
- Conducting microscopic examinations of cellular specimens to identify and classify morphological changes.
- Analyzing cellular structures in accordance with established criteria and preparing reports for both normal and abnormal findings.
- Performing cytopreparatory techniques and ensuring compliance with quality control standards.
- Maintaining adequate supply levels and assisting in the training of new staff members.
- Engaging in ongoing education to stay current with evolving cytological techniques and practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum of three years in a laboratory environment.
- Licensure: Cytotechnologist certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is required.
Physical Requirements:
Position involves frequent lifting, carrying, and use of vision for detailed work. Candidates should be prepared for a dynamic work environment that includes various physical activities.
