Job Summary

SSM Health is seeking a skilled Cytology Technical Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and performing technical tasks in the area of cytology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform microscopic examination of cellular specimens to identify and classify cellular constituents.
  • Prepare final reports of gynecological cytology specimens and present abnormal specimens to pathologists for evaluative diagnosis.
  • Develop and maintain procedures and techniques to ensure high-quality results.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient laboratory operations.
  • Participate in continuing education to stay up-to-date on changing techniques and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and education.
  • Three years' technical experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Cytotechnologist (CT) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
