Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Transfer Center RN Coordinator, your duties will include:
- Coordinating direct admissions and hospital transfers to appropriate facilities.
- Managing ambulance transfers and collaborating with post-acute care providers.
- Operating within a customer-focused transfer and transport call center, utilizing an electronic database for service profiles and clinical protocols.
- Effectively managing hospital transfers while consulting with on-call physicians regarding patient care.
- Collaborating with HCA facilities to oversee patient movements and bed assignments.
- Ensuring compliance with EMTALA regulations during hospital transfers.
- Applying nursing expertise to gather clinical data for appropriate patient placement and transfer facilitation.
- Maintaining communication with all parties involved in transfers, including physicians and referring facilities.
- Documenting and tracking all transfers and transports accurately.
- Assisting in data collection and analysis to improve transfer protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrating excellent customer service skills in all interactions.
- Keeping informed about the medical staff and services at participating HCA hospitals.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Current nursing license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 5 years of acute care RN experience.
- BSN or a Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- 2 years of experience in Critical Care nursing, including ED, ICU, or as a House Supervisor.
