Admissions Nurse

The Admissions Nurse is a critical role at Eating Recovery Center, responsible for assessing patient medical status and documented information to determine appropriateness for admission. This position requires a skilled nurse to review records, labs, and other paperwork to confirm medical appropriateness for transfer to ERCPL. The Admissions Nurse will also consult and review medically complex documentation as part of the intake assessment program, escalating to a physician when necessary. Additionally, this role involves coordinating and following up with referring providers and facilities to request and obtain required and/or updated records, labs, or other required medical paperwork. The successful candidate will have a BSN and RN license, with knowledge of eating disorder diagnosis and treatment strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
• Reviews records, labs, and other paperwork from sending facilities to confirm medical appropriateness for transfer to ERCPL
• Consults and reviews medically complex documentation as part of the intake assessment program
• Coordinates and follows up with referring providers and facilities to request and obtain required and/or updated records, labs, or other required medical paperwork
• Completes nurse-to-nurse handoff communication when required with sending facilities or providers
• Coordinates and communicates with on-site teams regarding medically complex cases
• Provides support and education to admissions teams, interpreting and guiding decision-making in relation to medically complex cases
