Job Overview

We are currently seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician at Bottineau Commons and Lofts to support our affordable housing initiatives in Minneapolis.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday; 8 AM - 4:30 PM with on-call rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance tasks including minor plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, light carpentry, painting, and landscaping.
  • Address open work orders and resolve tenant requests promptly, ideally within 24 hours.
  • Prepare and refurbish vacated apartment units efficiently, ensuring all units are cleaned, painted, and repaired to high standards.
  • Assist in planning and executing preventive maintenance for buildings and equipment.
  • Conduct hands-on repairs and maintenance, focusing on both routine upkeep and complex projects.
  • Regularly inspect property to ensure compliance with resident rules and maintain cleanliness and order.
  • Work diligently at the beginning and end of each month to complete necessary tasks; some overtime may be required.
  • Diagnose issues, replace or repair components, and perform necessary adjustments.
  • Utilize various hand and power tools, as well as equipment for material handling, in executing maintenance duties.
  • Maintain the exterior grounds and common areas to ensure they are presentable and well-kept.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED, along with completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent experience in maintenance.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in maintenance or related fields, preferably in residential or commercial real estate.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.
  • Possession of a special boilers license or willingness to obtain one, if necessary.
  • Must provide personal hand tools.
  • Ability to run errands for maintenance supplies as needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of interacting effectively with tenants, vendors, and corporate divisions.
