Environmental Safety and Compliance Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at Lakeside Recruiting Solutions. As an Environmental Safety and Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the environmental, health and safety system of our manufacturing facilities is continuously improved, and compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations is maintained.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective safety measures to reduce incidents and improve overall safety culture.
- Lead plant safety meetings and monitor established action items to ensure timely completion.
- Conduct thorough investigations into EHS incidents and assist in the development of corrective actions.
- Create and deliver training programs on emergency procedures, workplace safety, environmental practices and other relevant topics.
- Manage and update databases with environmental and safety data on a monthly basis.
- Maintain accurate records of company safety and OSHA measures.
- Coordinate external audits with environmental consultants and OSHA consultations to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and establish safety expertise through safe systems development, job safety analysis, risk assessment, machine safeguarding, ergonomics and industrial hygiene.
- Ensure employees understand proper methods of use through the development of operational instructions related to Safety Data Sheets.
- Review revisions to regulations and recommend appropriate actions to maintain compliance.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental or health and safety roles within a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills and ability to analyze data effectively.
- OSHA 30 Hour card preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 30% to other plant locations as required.
We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, as well as additional benefits including health insurance, retirement plan and paid time off.
