The role of a Security Officer involves maintaining safety protocols, documenting visitor access, and ensuring the overall security of the premises while preventing unauthorized access.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor for any irregularities or potential safety risks
  • Conduct foot patrols of assigned areas
  • Report incidents to the appropriate authorities following established procedures
  • Assist in the prompt reporting of emergencies and provide guidance to employees and visitors
  • Address rule violations, including loitering or large gatherings
  • Observe staff arrivals and departures to ensure public safety
  • Investigate and document accidents, incidents, and suspicious behavior
  • Maintain required written logs
  • Provide courteous assistance to customers, employees, and visitors

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is mandatory
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening is required
  • Flexibility in scheduling and work environments is essential
  • A valid driver's license or reliable transportation is necessary
  • Ability to respond swiftly to changing situations
  • Proficiency in addressing security threats and breaches
  • Comfortable with physical activities such as kneeling, carrying, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Detail-oriented with a professional demeanor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to work independently
  • Familiarity with mobile phones, texting, MS Word/Excel, and standard email systems is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference for residents of the Greater Boston area
  • At least two years of experience in a similar capacity is advantageous
  • Knowledge of security systems and surveillance technology is preferred
  • Certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED, Narcan, MOAB, or ACT I, II, III are highly regarded
  • An Associate's degree or higher in Criminal Justice-related fields is preferred
  • Experience in documentation, observation, customer service, and security protocols is beneficial
  • Previous experience in concierge services is a plus
