Position Summary:


The Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a professional caregiver, responsible for conducting patient assessments and developing, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of interdisciplinary care plans tailored to diverse patient populations.

The RN maintains professional standards of conduct and ethics as outlined in departmental expectations and professional organizations. Additionally, the RN provides education to patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals while assisting in the supervision of staff members, students, and volunteers as appropriate. A strong awareness and sensitivity to patients' and caregivers' rights is essential in this role.

Major Position Responsibilities:


The following responsibilities are essential to the role and reflect the key duties and competencies required for effective performance:

  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment, adhering to unit-based safety and infection control protocols.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate interdisciplinary care plans for various patient diagnoses.
  • Uphold professional standards of conduct and ethics as per departmental guidelines.
  • Educate patients, families, caregivers, and other health professionals.
  • Assist in supervising staff members, students, and volunteers as necessary.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the rights of patients and caregivers.


Qualifications:

Qualifications RN/Transitional Experience:
Preferred experience in acute care or hospital settings as a Registered Nurse.

Licenses:
Current California RN License is required.

Certifications:
Current BLS certification is required upon hire, issued by the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.


All new hires must successfully complete a physical evaluation, urine drug screening, and pre-employment background checks prior to commencing work.
