Cyber Operations Supervisor

As a key member of our Cybersecurity team, you will oversee the activities of analysts during shifts, ensuring effective performance and accountability. Your role will involve mentoring team members, delegating tasks, and facilitating the triage of cyber threat indicators.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Incident Response (IR) and Investigation processes during operational campaigns, ensuring thorough documentation in the Forensic Notes section.

• Ensure accuracy and proper formatting of tasks in the Analyst Notes pages throughout campaigns.

• Validate that Forensic Notes are meticulously reviewed and that the Forensic Timeline is accurately maintained.

• Guarantee effective turnover of tasks and findings during shift changes, utilizing the verbal turnover and shift roll-up tabs.

• Prioritize cyber events and incidents as necessary to maintain operational efficiency.

• Direct communication with peer defensive cyber components during incidents, ensuring clarity and coordination.

• Provide timely cyber event and incident response actions to stakeholders.

• Conduct Ticket Verification and Quality Control, ensuring the status of cyber event tickets is current and accurately reflects incident communications.

• Perform Quality Assurance on created tickets and the analyses contained within.

• Collaborate with Watch Officers to ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational goals.

• Assist in maintaining the quality of indicators and analyses, supporting the Training Coordinator in mentoring analysts who require additional guidance.

• Conduct verbal turnover sessions with incoming and outgoing Operations Watch personnel.

• Maintain comprehensive written turnover records within the incident tracking system's Duty book.

• Monitor updates from USCYBERCOM/JFHQ DoDIN and other cyber components regarding changes in the Cyber Protection Condition (CPCON) level, communicating these changes to relevant personnel.

• Report any critical services or devices that are non-operational during your shift.

• Prepare and distribute the Daily Operations Report to stakeholders.

• Maintain a deep understanding of security concepts, protocols, processes, architectures, and tools.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) environment or a similar field.

• Possession of DoD or DoN Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) Certification or compliance.

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with Incident Response Procedures.

• Understanding of Packet Analysis and IDS/IPS solutions.

• Experience with various Host-Based Tools and Log Aggregation Tools.

• Strong logical thinking and analytical skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Travel may be required for incident response and program support needs.
