Job Title: Adjunct Instructor - Automotive Engineering Technology

Ferris State University is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach AAS degree level coursework in the College of Engineering Technology.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Auto Service courses, including manual drivelines, brakes, electrical, engines, steering and suspension, electronic fuel management, chassis electrical, automatic transmissions, heating ventilation and air conditioning, service area or automotive machining.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach Auto Service courses
  • Responsible for teaching Auto Service course objectives according to established guidelines
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, Mitchel on Demand and All Data
  • Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members
  • Any other duties assigned within the position classification area
Requirements:
  • Qualification by Credential: The standard to teach college credit courses at the associate degree level (1xx, 2xx) shall be the bachelor's (or higher) degree in field, or closely related area
  • Qualification by Tested Experience: a bachelor's degree or higher out of field and an associate's degree in field and five (5) years of relevant industry experience; or a bachelor's degree out of field and seven (7) years of relevant industry experience; or an associate's degree in field and seven (7) years of relevant industry experience
  • Appropriate ASE certifications based on content of course taught
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Career and Technical Education teaching experience
  • Previous college teaching experience
