Job Title: Adjunct Instructor 1

Ferris State University is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor 1 to teach Foundations - Analytical Reading or Analytical Reading at our institution. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Reading, Developmental Education, Special Education or a related field and experience teaching and/or developmental studies at the college or K-12 levels.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach Foundations - Analytical Reading or Analytical Reading at Ferris State University as needed.
  • Create a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Submit materials through Digital Measures for longitudinal data collection, assessment of continuous improvement.
  • Submit syllabi to the department and participate in departmental assessment of courses.
  • Disseminate and encourage students to complete course evaluation and course survey.
  • Submit mid-term and final grades.
  • Attend trainings.
  • Participate in instructor evaluation/observations, up to once per semester.
  • Utilize the Ferris Learning Management System.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Reading, Developmental Education, Special Education or a related field.
  • Experience teaching and/or developmental studies at the college or K-12 levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in assessment of student learning outcomes.
  • Prior teaching experience in higher education.
  • Prior experience in online and blended instruction.
