Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our hemodialysis healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.

About the Role

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals who share your commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. As a Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting other healthcare members in providing patient-specific education regarding adequacy measures, vascular access, and disease process/access.
  • Evaluating vascular access for patency and reporting any unusual findings to the nurse supervisor.
  • Performing vascular access cannulation and reporting any difficulties or unusual findings to the nurse supervisor.
  • Initiating dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders, including blood flow (QB) and dialysate flow (QD).
  • Monitoring patients' response to dialysis therapy and reporting any unusual findings to the nurse supervisor.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current RN license and relevant experience in hemodialysis or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • A strong understanding of hemodialysis principles and practices, including vascular access management and dialysis therapy delivery.
  • The ability to lift and move patients and equipment, with frequent prolonged periods of standing and occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
