Purchasing Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to join our team at Arcosa. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for ordering supplies and equipment based on our company's needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
- Research potential vendors and negotiate prices
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Update internal databases with order details
- Conduct market research to identify pricing trends
- Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices
- Prepare cost analyses and maintain updated records of invoices and contracts
- Liaise with suppliers and warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition
- Minimum 2 years of related professional experience in Purchasing, Accounts Payable or similar
- Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field or similar
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Good understanding of supply chain procedures
- Hands-on experience with purchasing software
- Knowledge of market research
- Solid organizational skills
- Work environment includes an office environment with occasional visits to a steel plant, warehouse, or production environment
- This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond normal hours, shifts, and weekends/holidays
- Ability to tolerate high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant
- Be aware of and observe all safety practices, including wearing safety glasses, safety boots, and hearing protection as required
- Know and follow all safety rules and procedures
- Participate in safety committees and initiatives as assigned
