Job Overview

The role of the Production Team Supervisor at Franklin Precision Industry Inc is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our assembly lines. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing productivity and maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fill in for assembly operators during their absence to maintain production flow.
  • Support assembly lines to ensure efficient operations.
  • Report any irregularities to the Group Leader and Supervisor promptly.
  • Observe and assess team members to ensure they are properly trained.
  • Document the skill levels of team members on the MFWTT system.
  • Create line balance and 'Yamazumi' charts to optimize efficiency.
  • Accurately track production metrics, including defects and scrap rates.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on assigned assembly machinery.
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites as required.
  • Coordinate and document 'Change Point Control' processes.
  • Verify data entry for Quality and Facility Checks, confirming accuracy with a signature.
  • Ensure daily checks are completed before the end of each shift; if absent, it is your responsibility to ensure these tasks are fulfilled.
  • Report any non-conformance issues to the Group Leader/Supervisor/Manager immediately.
  • Notify superiors of any abnormal conditions without delay.
  • Implement 5S practices in the assigned work area and instruct team members accordingly.
  • Provide training to new team members for extended periods.
  • Facilitate staffing rotations to ensure comprehensive training for all operators.
  • Develop and propose Kaizen initiatives.
  • Engage in Kaizen activities on the assembly line.
  • Complete daily reporting and documentation tasks.
  • Train operators on standardized work procedures.
  • Oversee the quality and safety standards of the assembly line.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and enhance company performance metrics.
  • Understand operational processes and effectively manage assembly equipment.
  • Conduct audits of standardized work practices using audit plans and check sheets.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to perform basic calculations with or without a calculator.
  • Familiarity with the manufacturing sector, including areas such as Throttle Body, Fuel Pump/IACV, Canister, Die Cast, and Machining.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, IBM Notes, and AS400.
Educational Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
