Position Overview:

E Ink Corporation is seeking an innovative researcher/scientist to join our team in the invention and development of advanced driving techniques for e-Paper display technology. You will engage in the development of new display products by designing and conducting electro-optical experiments, providing thorough analysis of display performance. As a vital team member, you will tackle challenging exploratory projects aimed at product enhancement and the introduction of new products, all within a culture that encourages open review and critical dialogue. Our streamlined team structure ensures that each member has significant visibility and accountability in achieving company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire proficiency in utilizing cameras, controllers, and systems that drive and assess the electro-optical performance of displays.
  • Conduct research and design controlled experiments to deepen understanding of various phenomena and investigate the root causes of technical challenges.
  • Employ statistical methods, mathematical models, and image processing techniques to derive key metrics for informed decision-making.
  • Propose innovative methods to enhance display performance characterization for existing products, invent new features for future products, and design optical tests for their optimization.
  • Develop and document methodologies for integration into internal or production processes.
  • Create and document intellectual property.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related fields.
  • Experience with camera systems, optical devices, electronic instruments, and laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and power supplies.
  • Proficient in analyzing complex systems using mathematical techniques, including data mining and system analysis for practical problem-solving.
  • Strong research capabilities with attention to detail, including experience in designing controlled experiments and interpreting data.
  • Programming proficiency is essential, with a strong preference for Python and/or MATLAB.
  • A motivated and introspective individual who is driven to troubleshoot and improve systems, with a keen interest in hands-on work with devices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
  • A desire to engage in practical research within a laboratory setting.
