About the Position:

This is a six-month co-op in the Research and Advanced Development group at E Ink Corporation. The Co-op will work directly with our scientists and have the opportunity to gain substantial research experience and work independently on projects.

The assignment will focus on the construction and characterization of ink films to be used in the next generation of electronic paper display platforms.

Tasks will be varied and include opportunities to learn how to make pigments, formulations, and test some of the display components as well as work with the final devices using the latest E Ink technology.

The co-op must exhibit safe lab practices at all times and be capable of continuously learning new equipment and laboratory techniques.

Responsibilities:
  • Synthesize materials and prepare formulations in a chemical benchtop lab
  • Test chemical properties of components and test the electrical and electro-optical performance of prototypes
  • Construct test devices to study properties of new electronic ink components
  • Organize chemical property data of materials and work with scientists to design and carry out experiments
Qualifications:
  • Student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, biology or Material Science
  • A GPA of 3.3 or higher
  • Familiarity with chemistry laboratory work
  • Ability to analyze and manipulate data and organize the results in presentation format
  • Ability to effectively communicate work results and conclusions to a multi-disciplinary team
  • Good organization skills and the capacity to manage own schedule
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Local address

  • Experience with chemistry or biology laboratory work
  • Understanding of simple polymer, colloids, and interface concepts
