Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Daily SCRUM Sessions: Oversee the day-to-day operations of our software engineering team, ensuring smooth project progress and addressing technical or logistical challenges.
  • Manage Software Delivery Timelines: Take ownership of software delivery timelines, using creative problem-solving to resolve timing conflicts and challenges while ensuring key product objectives are met.
  • Coordinate Software Team Activities: Manage and coordinate the software team's activities, including daily SCRUMs, to ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Resolve Technical Issues: Act as the primary point of contact for software technical issues, proactively resolving problems and addressing roadblocks.
  • Monitor Project Progress: Continuously monitor project progress, provide updates, escalate risks, adjust priorities, and create contingency plans for high-risk milestones.
  • Communicate with Stakeholders: Share timely and content-rich updates with Hyliion program management and industrialization team on a regular cadence to ensure company-wide awareness of timing and any risks to committed program timing.
  • Streamline Communication: Streamline communication between the software engineering and other departments, such as hardware engineering, supply chain, sales, marketing, and administrative functions.
  • Develop Project Management Behavior: Engage with engineering and industrialization leads to develop and implement effective project management behavior, processes, and best practices.
  • Identify Opportunities for Improvement: Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize processes and execution.
  • Manage Resources and Timelines: Manage resources and timelines, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for ongoing and upcoming projects; flag resource gaps and needs to achieve timelines.
  • Foster a Positive Work Environment: Foster a positive, proactive, and agile work environment that encourages innovation and collaboration across teams.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5 – 10 years of experience in Program Management or a related field.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience as a Software SCRUM Lead, Project Manager, or similar role.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on results and driving projects forward.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Project Management Tools: Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with power generation, electronical charging, generator technology, or a similar industry is a plus.
