Position Overview


We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Maternal Fetal Medicine Outpatient Clinic. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced healthcare environment.

In this position, you will deliver exceptional patient care while ensuring outstanding customer service. You will play a crucial role in coordinating patient flow and managing provider schedules to optimize care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely responses to patient inquiries regarding appointment details, wait times, and any unforeseen issues.
  • Conduct patient registration in accordance with clinic protocols.
  • Utilize the patient management system to log patient arrivals and establish accounts.
  • Update the status of patients who do not arrive to indicate cancellations, no-shows, or rescheduling.
  • Prioritize patient rooming based on appointment times and clinic procedures.
  • Support licensed staff with non-financial aspects of the patient admission process as needed.
  • Assist with patient transportation and paperwork as required.
  • Collect and document patient and family information, including biophysical and psychosocial data, in line with clinic standards.
  • Report any abnormal or concerning data to the RN or healthcare provider.
  • Ensure requisitions are complete with necessary clinical, demographic, billing, and payer information.
  • Monitor patient flow and allocate staff as necessary to minimize wait times.
Qualifications


All employees at Texas Children's are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any recommended booster doses, unless an exemption for medical or religious reasons is approved.


  • Preferred: College degree.
  • Required: CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant certification from the National Healthcareer Association.
  • Required: CMA-AAM - Certified Medical Assistant from the American Association of Medical Assistants.
  • One of the following certifications is required:
  • EMT Certified Emergency Medical Technologist from the Texas Department of State and Health Services.
  • EMT-A Certified Advanced Emergency Medical Technologist from the Texas Department of State and Health Services.
  • EMT-B Certified Emergency Medical Technologist-Basic from the Texas Department of State and Health Services.
  • EMT-I Certified Emergency Medical Technologist-Intermediate from the Texas Department of State and Health Services.
  • EMT-P Certified Emergency Medical Technologist-Paramedic from the Texas Department of State and Health Services.
  • LIC PAR - Licensed Paramedic from the Texas Department of State and Health Services.
  • NCMA - National Medical Assistant Certification from the National Center for Competency Testing.
  • NRCMA - Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant from the National Association of Health Professionals.
  • RMA - Registered Medical Assistant from the American Association of Medical Personnel, American Allied Health, American Medical Technologists, or American Registry of Medical Assistants.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting or customer service-oriented industry is preferred.
  • Outpatient clinic operations experience is preferred.
