Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assurance Director to join our growing and well-established national firm in our Boston office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing assurance engagements, providing leadership and guidance to staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage assurance engagements with minimal oversight by Partner
  • Lead by example and provide guidance to staff on technical and professional matters
  • Meet billable hour and annual CPE requirements
  • Travel frequently to client office locations within the New England region
  • Work closely with Partners on assigned client engagements from start to finish
  • Oversee and coordinate all phases of audit engagements, review work papers for accuracy and completeness, and review financial statements for suitability of presentation and adequacy of disclosures
  • Generate and manage the engagement budget and profitability in all engagement areas
  • Take the lead role in managing engagements and ensure quality control procedures are being executed
  • Review and evaluate work papers and determine compliance with professional standards and firm policy
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with client management
  • Provide on the job training to subordinates and generate new business annually for new and existing clients
  • Confidently present audit report findings directly to client board members and represent the firm by presenting on areas of expertise at third-party events and industry seminars
  • Effectively manage employee and client expectations and complete performance evaluations constructively and timely

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Must be a licensed CPA with 10+ years of relevant public accounting experience, specifically in the healthcare industry
  • Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Tax Law knowledge
  • Ability to articulately communicate professional/technical knowledge and effectively business advisory skills
  • Decisively identify and execute solutions to problems and thorough understanding of complex technical issues
  • Strong communication, research, analytical, and writing skills, as well as proven technical skills with Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with accounting software, such as Prosystem FX engagement, and solid organization skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Active listening skills and strong time management, analytical, and research skills
  • Must have a personal vehicle and be willing to travel frequently
