Overview of the Corporate Audit Analyst Program

The Corporate Audit function is tasked with delivering an independent evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of the controlling processes within Bank of America to mitigate potential risks.

Maintaining independence and objectivity, Corporate Audit reports directly to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. Our team covers all facets of the corporation, validating the company's risk management practices through rigorous testing of key processes and controls.

Regular reports on Bank of America's risk management systems and internal controls are provided to management and the Audit Committee. Furthermore, Corporate Audit offers risk-based guidance to management to cultivate a customer-focused risk management culture that aligns with the Corporation's business goals.

Internship Program Overview

The Corporate Audit Summer Analyst Program spans 10 weeks and serves as an introduction to both Bank of America and the Corporate Audit function. Our objective for summer interns is to build upon their academic foundation—particularly in technical skills, industry knowledge, and corporate environment familiarity—while pursuing career paths aligned with their interests and backgrounds.

Your training and development are prioritized, featuring extensive formal training at the program's outset, supplemented by on-the-job support, events, and mentorship throughout the internship. Opportunities include:

A Day in the Life of a Corporate Audit Intern

Internships in Corporate Audit provide exposure to internal auditing, access to senior leadership, and comprehensive training to support your professional growth. As a summer intern, you will forge meaningful connections, engage in community service activities, and delve into the auditing profession.

Your responsibilities may encompass:

  • Developing essential skills related to audit practices, methodologies, and business acumen.
  • Managing specialized projects and processes pertinent to the audit plan and risk management.
  • Consulting and advising business leaders on risk and control frameworks.
  • Acquiring advanced technology skills through automation.
  • Fostering a corporate culture that embraces risk management as critical to achieving sustainable growth.

Corporate Audit Opportunities

The Corporate Audit Summer Analyst Program allocates interns to teams across various sectors of the bank, including the eight lines of business and corporate functions. Internship roles may support different business groups, such as:

  • Global Banking and Markets.
  • Preferred and Small Business Banking.
  • Global Commercial Banking.
  • US Trust.
  • Business Banking.
  • Global Corporate and Investment Banking.
  • Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.
  • Retail Banking and Distribution.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be pursuing an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution, with a graduation timeframe that aligns with program eligibility.
  • Common fields of study include but are not limited to:
    • Finance.
    • Data Analytics.
    • Accounting.
    • Management Information Systems.
    • Economics.
    • Computer Science.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.2 is preferred.
  • Candidates should demonstrate a strong intellectual curiosity, a commitment to operational excellence, and a focus on achieving sustainable outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong skills in leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, analytical thinking, verbal and written communication, and professionalism are essential.
