Job Responsibilities:

  • Accurately measure, verify, and combine specific chemical mixtures for product development.
  • Calibrate and oversee various mixing machinery while maintaining precise production logs.
  • Adhere to all departmental and organizational standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure meticulous record-keeping for each formulation batch.
  • Engage with Antineoplastic products and provide support within the Nanotechnology division.
  • Oversee the formulation of all production lots with attention to detail.
  • Set up, load, operate, and monitor all equipment related to product formulations.
  • Ensure precise weighing and mixing of chemicals according to established formulas while verifying product output.
  • Calibrate and manage all formulation-related instruments (such as scales and meters).
  • Adjust pH levels and oxygen concentrations of products prior to production release.
  • Understand and support batch formulation using both volumetric and gravimetric techniques as specified in batch records.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all tanks, equipment, and containers in accordance with current SOPs and good manufacturing practices (cGMPs).
  • Document production volumes and comply with all good documentation practices (GDP).
  • Assume additional responsibilities within the compounding department as needed to support production schedules.
  • Strictly adhere to safety protocols, SOPs, cGMPs, and batch records to prevent workplace hazards.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure safety practices are consistently met.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires the use of respirators and adherence to specific gowning procedures in a cleanroom environment.
  • Handling hazardous materials necessitates compliance with safety protocols to mitigate exposure risks.
  • Physical demands include lifting over 75 lbs and managing large equipment and materials.
  • Maintain mental focus and alertness to ensure accurate compounding and processing of products.
  • Coordination with team members may be required, with minimal direct supervision.

Education and Experience:

A degree in chemistry or a related field is essential. Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or similar industries is advantageous. Candidates should be proficient in accurately measuring and weighing chemicals in various forms and be able to comprehend and retain written SOPs relevant to the formulation department.
