Job Title: Engineering Geologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Geologist to join our team at the Department of Toxic Substances Control. As an Engineering Geologist, you will play a critical role in overseeing all aspects of investigation and cleanup related to assigned hazardous waste/substance sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply knowledge of recognized environmental conditions, geology, subsurface investigations, underground transport processes of contaminants, and hydrogeology to investigate the sequence, structure, and relationships of geological materials as they affect the fate and transport of environmental pollutants.
  • Evaluate technical data, reports, and professional papers submitted by responsible parties or state contractors in support of remedial investigation, remedial action proposals, and ongoing operation and maintenance.
  • Review and prepare written comments and recommendations on submitted reports.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement effective remediation strategies.

Working Conditions:

This position is located at the Cal Center Regional Office in Sacramento, CA. A hybrid work schedule is available, with a requirement to be in office 2 days a week.
