Job Title: Engineering Geologist

The State Water Resources Control Board is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Geologist to join our team. As an Engineering Geologist, you will be responsible for performing complex assignments associated with waste management units, including landfills, land treatment units, surface impoundments, and compost facilities.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Reviewing the design and operation of waste management unit environmental control systems
  • Evaluating geologic and hydrogeologic aspects related to water quality monitoring programs
  • Writing and managing compliance with Waste Discharge Requirements
  • Applying statistics to water quality data and evaluating slope stability
  • Managing complex projects and meeting deadlines
  • Working with databases, including GeoTracker, GAMA, and CIWQS
  • Using computer applications such as Microsoft Office, ArcGIS, and Adobe Acrobat

Requirements:


  • Professional Engineering or Civil Engineering license highly preferred
  • Experience with reviewing the design and operation of waste management unit environmental control systems
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to water resources, public health, and environment
  • Experience with writing and managing compliance with Waste Discharge Requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
