Key Responsibilities:
  • Front of House Operations: Participate in daily operations to maintain the highest standards of service, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for our guests.
  • Service Area Management: Maintain all aspects of the service areas and dining room, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for our guests.
  • Ambassador of the Establishment: Serve as the ambassador of The Inn at Little Washington, representing our brand and values to our guests and colleagues.
Essential Functions:
  • MOD Responsibilities: Function as the Manager on Duty (MOD) on any given night, ensuring the smooth operation of the front of house.
  • Mentorship and Training: Take on a mentorship role with new staff members, providing guidance and training to ensure their success in their roles.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve problems that arise during dinner service, taking corrective action to ensure a positive experience for our guests.
  • Departmental Knowledge: Possess a mastery of different departments, including kitchen, front desk, housekeeping, valet, and maintenance.
Qualifications:
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Fine Dining Experience: Prior experience working in a fine dining restaurant.
  • Age and Grooming: Must be at least 16 years of age and well-groomed, with no visible tattoos.
  • Transportation: Must have reliable transportation.
  • Wine Knowledge: Intermediate wine knowledge.
  • Availability: Open to working holidays and weekends.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Forbes Standards: Familiarity with Forbes Standards.
  • Language Skills: Ability to communicate in a language other than English, preferably Spanish or French.
  • Certifications: Certification in alcohol awareness program and CPR.
  • Resort Experience: Prior experience with Resortsuite and Tock.
  • Advanced Wine Knowledge: Advanced wine knowledge.
Skills:
  • Communication: Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Organization: Must always be organized and maintain cleanliness of workstation.
  • Language: Ability to speak using clear and professional language.
  • Multi-Tasking: Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Cross-Training: Ability to cross-train across multiple departments and assist when needed.
  • Guest Service: Ability to assist guests with questions about the property, history, and surrounding areas.
Physical Demands:
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift 30+ lbs.
  • Standing and Walking: Able to stand, bend, and walk for long periods of time.
  • Physical Activities: Frequent or occasional need to perform reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing.
