Job Description

Northstar Behavioral Health Network is a team of professionals dedicated to serving individuals battling substance use disorders, particularly Opioid Use Disorder and Stimulant Use Disorder. We specialize in providing Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Stay informed about client activities and house operations.
  • Transport clients to appointments, intake pickups, and discharge drop-offs.
  • Ensure client safety and compliance during transportation.
  • Coordinate work tasks with programming requirements.
  • Set priorities for monitoring clients, making house rounds, and documenting information.
  • Work independently with minimal direction and maintain a high level of dependability.
  • Stay up-to-date on program philosophy, policies, and procedures, including 245G requirements and house operations.
  • Assist counselors with intake/admission procedures and client orientation.
  • Encourage clients to achieve their goals by serving as a positive role model.
  • Participate in client recreational activities with a positive attitude.
  • Provide resources for clients through knowledge of community services and opportunities.
  • Document client information in the communications log and complete other forms.
  • Objectively document client-related topics in client files and communication logs.
  • Exhibit diplomacy and sensitivity towards staff and client feelings, needs, values, and opinions.
  • Complete clerical assignments, such as faxing, copying, and updating spreadsheets.
  • Assist with food preparation and household cleaning duties as needed.
  • Adhere to attendance and absence policies.
  • Be punctual in reporting for work and shift change reports.
  • Participate in rotational and/or off-shift schedules, including a holiday rotation schedule, as applicable.
  • Able to work additional hours/off-shift as needed.

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or attain within 30 days of employment.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Knowledge of MN Statutes related to providing services for the population NBHN serves, and willingness to learn, understand, and carry out regulations with integrity.
  • Must understand and follow NBH's Drug and Alcohol Policy.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge in MS Office and Google Suite programs.
