Job Summary:

Northstar Behavioral Health Network is a team of professionals dedicated to serving individuals battling substance use disorders, specifically Opioid Use Disorder and Stimulant Use Disorder. We also specialize in providing Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) to those in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer client medications and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of house and client activities.
  • Transport clients to and from appointments, intake pickups, discharge drop-offs, and other scheduled events.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers in the vehicle.
  • Plan work tasks to align with programming requirements and set priorities accordingly.
  • Monitor clients, make house rounds, and document pertinent information.
  • Highly dependable and able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of program philosophy, policies, and procedures, including 245G requirements and house operations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist counselors with intake/admission procedures, orientation of new clients, and co-workers.
  • Encourage clients to achieve their goals by functioning as a positive role model.
  • Participate in client recreational activities with a positive attitude.
  • Serve as a resource for clients through knowledge of services and opportunities in the community.
  • Document client information in the communications log and complete other forms as needed.
  • Objectively document client-related topics in client files and communication logs.
  • Exhibit diplomacy and sensitivity toward other staff and client feelings, needs, values, and opinions.
  • Complete clerical assignments, such as faxing, copying programming materials, stocking packets/forms, typing documents in Word, and updating Excel spreadsheets.
  • Assist with food preparation and household cleaning duties as needed.
  • Adhere to attendance and absence policies.
  • Punctual in reporting for work and shift change reports.
  • Participate in rotational and/or off-shift schedules, including a holiday rotation schedule, as applicable.
  • Able to work additional hours/off-shift as needed.

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or attain within 30 days of employment.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Knowledge of all MN Statutes related to providing services for the population NBHN serves, and willingness to learn, understand, and carry out regulations with integrity.
  • Must understand and follow NBH's Drug and Alcohol Policy.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge in MS Office and Google Suite programs.
