Water Resources Project Manager Opportunity

At HNTB, we are seeking a committed Water Resources Project Manager to play a pivotal role in transformative infrastructure initiatives that serve communities. With a legacy of over a century, we engage in some of the most critical and complex projects across the nation. In this position, you will guide projects from conception to completion, managing responsibilities such as crafting proposals, negotiating agreements, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will oversee budgets, timelines, technical specifications, and client interactions while also participating in advanced technical tasks and reviewing design documents. Working closely with both internal and external teams, you will address design challenges and lead teams on projects ranging from strategic undertakings under $1M to medium-scale projects reaching up to $5M.

Your Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing project scope and fee estimates in accordance with our Advanced Contracting Methodology
  • Acting as the primary client liaison, managing project teams to ensure successful delivery within defined scope, timeline, and budget
  • Conducting various technical activities such as analysis, reporting, design, and production for assigned projects
  • Applying our firm's project delivery strategy utilizing the Advanced Delivery Methodology for each project
  • Coordinating project staffing with management, including recruitment, development, and support for performance evaluations and compensation reviews
  • Collaborating with Client Service Leaders on business development initiatives and building client relationships for strategic projects
  • Leading the development and presentation of proposals for key projects
  • Overseeing staff recruitment, hiring, development, and retention
  • Executing any other assigned responsibilities

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in task management or Deputy Project Manager roles

Main Focus Areas:

  • Hands-on involvement in Water Resources projects
  • Storm Water design for transportation initiatives
  • Supporting the Drainage/Hydrology & Hydraulics department by executing engineering tasks for assigned projects
  • Managing design review processes
  • Preparing construction documents, reports, plans, and specifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Hydrology & Hydraulics principles
  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Familiarity with tools such as HEC RAS, HEC HMS, HY8
  • Proficiency in software like Autocad/Microstation, Civil 3D, ORD
