We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Clinical Nutrition Specialist to join our team at Driscoll Children's Hospital. As a key member of our pediatric department, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition care to our young patients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans for pediatric patients, taking into account their unique needs and health conditions.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
- Conduct thorough nutrition assessments and screenings to identify potential health risks and develop strategies for prevention and intervention.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare staff on nutrition-related topics, including meal planning, food safety, and healthy eating habits.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based practices in pediatric nutrition, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes and advance the field.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to pediatric nutrition.
- Work closely with the Clinical Nutrition Manager to ensure effective management of nutrition services and resources.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in nutrition or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Certification by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- State licensure by the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation.
- At least three years of pediatric clinical nutrition experience or five years of general clinical nutrition experience.
- Bilingual (Spanish) language skills highly preferred.
- Advance Practice/Specialty certification from a nationally recognized certifying body, such as CDR or National Board of Nutrition Certification.
- Food Manager's Certification or Food Safety Certification.
